NCCP COACHING COURSES

One of the IMBA's main objectives as we continue to grow is to elevate our ability to develop players abilities.  The most critical component to that is the level and expertise of our IMBA coaches.  The IMBA has made a committment to invest in our coaches (especially at the select and rep level) by locally hosting and paying for NCCP courses for our coaches (a defined # of spots).  We began this 5 years ago and it has been a huge success.  We will plan on doing so again this upcoming off-season (between Feb - April 2020).  Stay tuned to this page for course offerings, dates, times and how to secure an IMBA paid spot.  You can jump to section outlining the NCCP courses being offered by the IMBA this off-season by clicking here.

What is the NCCP?

First of all, if you aren't familiar with what NCCP is, please take a moment to visit the Baseball Canada NCCP website and read about their NCCP certification program here:

All head and assistant coaches (any level) require an NCCP # which you can get from registering on the baseball canada NCCP website above and completing the online module.

What are the NCCP Requirements for a Coach?

If you are a coach, or planning on becoming a coach it is extremely important that you understand what the requirements are as mandated by the OBA (Ontario Baseball Association), as well as any additional requirements that the IMBA also enforces.

How To Reserve an IMBA Paid Spot for NCCP Courses Hosted by our Association (when they become available)

While we would love to pay for ALL of our coaches, that is unfortunately just not possible due to the overall cost involved.  So we have to base the allocation of spots on a number of things in order of priority including:

1. IMBA Rep & Select Head Coach Request
2. IMBA Rep & Select Assistant Coach Request
3. IMBA House League Head Coach Request
4. IMBA House League Assistant Coach Request

Other factors involved in awarding the final spots:

1. Is the course(s) required for the coach for this upcoming season?
2. How long has the coach been with the IMBA?
3. Has the coach had access to other paid courses from the IMBA previously?

If you are interested in requesting a spot in any of the NCCP courses being offered, or have any questions please submit an email request to director.coach@innisfilbaseball.com as follows (Please feel free to copy and paste these into your email):

• Name:  First and Last Name
• Level:  House League, Select,or Rep
• Position:  Head Coach or Assistant Coach
• Service:  # of years coaching with the IMBA
• NCCP #:  Your NCCP # (if you have one)
• NCCP Courses:  List all the NCCP courses you are requesting a spot for

Please note:  It is EXTREMELY important that if you are requesting a spot, that you can actually attend the clinic as the IMBA has to pay for the spot whether you show up or not.  If you cannot attend for whatever reason, please notify director.coach@innisfilbaseball at least 10 days in advance of the course.

You will be notified if you have received a confirmed spot 7-10 days prior to the clinic.
